Meet Odyssey, our Animal Friends Pet of the Week!

It’s took the legendary Odysseus 10 years to find his way home… Our Odyssey has been waiting for ONE WHOLE YEAR to find his home. In dog years? That’s an epic worthy of the big screen.

This three-year-old hero has conquered training, mastered enrichment and is preparing for his happily ever after through our New Leash Program with SCI Fayette Prison where he lives with an inmate who is his trainer companion. While there, Odyssey enjoys enrichment activities, positive reinforcement and fear-free training. Basically, he lives full time with his new best friends and learns manners to prepare him for you – his future family!

Odyssey has proven he’s brave, loyal and always ready for his next adventure (especially if treats are involved). He loves to play, soak up attention and learn new things. He’s looking for an experienced family who can keep up with his adventurous spirit, give him plenty of exercise and let him reign as the one and only pet in his kingdom.

The original Odyssey was all about the journey home. Now it’s our Odyssey’s turn. Will you be the one to finally bring his epic adventure to a happy ending?

August is Dogust, the nationwide birthday celebration for shelter dogs. Because we don’t always know a shelter dog’s actual birthday, Dogust gives us the chance to celebrate them all. To honor our canine residents, Animal Friends is making adoptions of all dogs age one year and older price-less throughout August. That means Royal can join your family with no adoption fee or donation needed.
