Meet Echidna & Emu, a bonded pair of 10 year-old dogs and our Animal Friends Pets of the Week!

This devoted couple have spent their whole lives side by side — and at 10 years old, they’re hoping to spend their golden years the same way, in a calm, loving home. These two came to us together through our Humane Investigations team and their bond is unmistakable. They find comfort in one another, moving through the world as a quiet, steady pair who simply belong together.

Echidna is a gentle old man with a soft spirit. He’s a little unsteady on his feet these days and has some age-related health needs, so he’s looking for a family who will give him patience, understanding and a cozy place to rest. Right by his side is Emu, a sweet senior lady who loves being near her people, just on her own terms. She prefers not to be picked up but happily shares her affection in her own gentle way.

They would thrive in a peaceful home with children 6 or older who can respect their space and slower pace. While they adore each other, they’re not fond of other dogs, so they’re hoping to be your one and only pair.
